4.8 Million Reasons to Celebrate Earth Month
We’ve already removed 4.8 million pounds of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers, and coastlines. This Earth Month, let’s come together in a collective effort to continue creating real, lasting impact.

Your Support Is Powering Our Bali Rainy Season Rapid Response
During Indonesia’s rainy season, powerful monsoon rains overwhelm local waste systems and push enormous volumes of plastic into rivers and ultimately out to sea. This season is actively underway through the spring, highlighting the urgent need for daily on-the-ground action, not only to remove trash from Bali’s waterways, but to stop pollution before it can spread further into the ocean.
Cleanup responses span rivers, coastlines, and the open ocean. From river boom installations that intercept plastic upstream, to coastal cleanups along debris-filled shorelines, to ocean recovery efforts using donor-funded vessels like the Dugong, our crews work every day to stop pollution. Alongside these efforts, the team connects with local communities to advocate for a cleaner ocean by increasing education on responsible waste management, supporting long-term impact.
Your donation makes this work possible. Contributions allow us to deploy additional cleanup crews, strengthen interception systems, and expand recovery efforts across Bali.
If you have not yet given, please consider supporting our efforts now, as operations remain in full force while the rainy season powers on.
Be Part of the Change Our Ocean Needs
4ocean Foundation is the charitable nonprofit arm of the global 4ocean movement, dedicated to ending plastic pollution and protecting the ocean we all depend on.
Our current work is anchored in Bali, Indonesia, and South Florida - two of our core global cleanup hubs - with special impact projects happening in communities around the world.
In Bali, powerful seasonal currents carry massive volumes of plastic through one of the most biodiverse marine regions on Earth. Without intervention, this pollution flows into the open ocean, threatening ecosystems far beyond Indonesia’s shores.
Powered by donations, we’ve already removed more than 4.8 million pounds of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers, and coastlines - building a model designed to scale wherever it’s needed most.
With your support, we:
- Intercept plastic and trash before it breaks down into microplastics
- Protect marine life and vital coastal habitats
- Drive global storytelling, education, and campaigns that inspire action
The ocean has given us so much. Now it’s our turn to protect it. This Earth Month, help us create a cleaner, healthier future for our planet.

Working To End
The Ocean Plastic Crisis
More than 18 billion pounds of plastic enter the ocean every year devastating marine life, damaging ecosystems, and threatening human health worldwide. Without urgent action, our ocean's future - and ours - is at risk. Our mission is to stop it one pound at a time.
